SHOESTRING Helps the American Conservation Experience with PR Coverage that Leads to Vacation Program Sales

American Conservation Experience (ACE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing rewarding environmental service opportunities that harness the idealism and energy of avolunteer labor force to help restore America’s public lands. National Parks, National Forests, Wildlife Refuges, wilderness areas and other public lands throughout the United States are imperiled by a combination of dynamics that threaten habitat, endanger vital ecosystems, and compromise the non-negotiable right of the next generation to explore the natural world. ACE started ACE Volunteer Vacations that offered a unique week long conservation vacation opportunity at Catalina Island and the Grand Canyon South Rim. But the organization struggled to build awareness for the program with potential participants in 2014 and had not attracted them on these great offerings. The team hired SHOESTRING to get the word out regionally and nationally with public relations (click here to view press release). “Swap your sandals for steel-toed boots and get ready to get dirty for a good cause” said Tom Wilson, program director of ACE in a press release developed by SHOESTRING. When several major news outlets ran coverage of the story, the ACE vacation program sold out several weeks of opportunities for conservation enthusiasts, helping ACE raise incremental funds for its programs.
