(June 27, 2016) A recent project delivered by SHOESTRING’s for Lextended Day was named a 2016 Finalist for Nonprofit Excellence by the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network for communications work that included infographics and messaging developed by SHOESTRING. Lextended Day just kids jpgLextended Day is a nonprofit, tuition-supported after-school program serving children from all six elementary schools in Lexington, Mass. In 2015, the organization served 500 families at the elementary school level and also established a program in the middle school and reached full capacity with a waiting list at all six locations. The program’s five-year contract expired in 2016 and the organization needed a sound solution to present who they are and what values they provide families and the public officials of Lexington with their programs. Lextended Day turned to SHOESTRING for marketing consultation, data research and messaging which resulted in the creative design of a series of infographics to accompany their RFP response and presentation to the city of Lexington. The strong visual appeal of the presentation presented educational data and program attributes that were easy to analysis for public officials helped gain approval for a new five-year contract. “Their knowledge of the nonprofit landscape saved me time, money and work. The product was informative and attractive and cost effective. Shoestring hits above its weight class.” said Heather Hartshorn, executive director of Lextended Day.
