The Children’s Place

The Children’s Place in Kansas City was the lucky recipient of a grant to publish an annual report that celebrated its 30th year. The nonprofit selected Shoestring because we were committed to doing much more than just a nice looking annual report. The result was a year-long partnership that resulted in a complete marketing improvement project. Not only was the organization able to get a wonderful annual report, they received a full marketing audit, new marketing and messaging guidelines and a new look (complete with a full graphic standards manual). This work is a great example of how SHOESTRING helps an organization increase its capacity through effective communications practices.

From the photography and copywriting to the design, SHOESTRING took care of every aspect of this wonderful showcase piece for The Children’s Place. The messaging focuses on outcomes rather than simply highlighting the work of the amazing organization serving young children affected by trauma. “Expert treatment. Brighter futures.” not only serves as an attention getting headline, but a compelling new tagline for the nonprofit.
